Strategic projects to be carried out in the year 2008

- Hanoi – Yen Vien – Ngoc Hoi elevated railway (stage 1) with the total capital of 19 billion VN dongs. In this stage, the elevated railway will lengthen from Gia Lam station to Giap Bat station. The investigation phase is estimated to last for over 2 years.

- Rehabilitating and upgrading Yen Vien – Lao Cai railway (estimated to be surveyed in June 2008). According to schedule, this project is going to begin in 2010 and finish by the year 2012.

- Improving and upgrading bridges on Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh city railway line

- Repairing Long Bien bridge

- Rehabilitating railway at Khe Net Pass

- Upgrading water-drainage system along Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh city railway line

- Chua Ve – Dinh Vu railway line
